MEG YEATMAN
Artist, Designer & Illustrator
My work as a tattoo artist usually involves insects, florals, natural imagery and gothic themes. I adapt my illustrative style into bold tattoos that stand the test of time and look fantastic on the skin. Similar to my illustrative practise, I enjoy tattooing the strange and unusual.

Lamp shades: My curated degree show researched the topic of dreams and my personal relationship with sleep. I have always been interested in 3D work and sculpture, so creating lampshades was the perfect way to harmonise the topic of sleep with my illustrative practise. In dreams, colours seem brighter, stories become abstract and deconstructed. I want my work to convey the dreamlike-scape I experience, blurring the lines between dreams and reality. I used second hand and recycled materials as sustainability is also important to my practise as a small business owner.
Illustrative work at cardiff metropolitan: My curated degree show was about dreams and everything that is encapsulated by sleep. Working as a multimedia creative I always love to explore unusual and open ended themes. I find one method of creating limiting and am always experimenting with different media and processes.
